Who We Are

We’re a construction company and contractor based out of Prince George, BC, operating throughout British Columbia and Alberta.

We have about a dozen people in the office at any given time, including project managers, bookkeepers, and administrative staff. On site we’ll have dozens more, including carpenters, equipment operators, and labourers. Our team is often at anywhere from 50 to 100 people.

We’re professional, courteous, competent, and when it’s time to get to work, we work hard.

That said, we’re also pretty friendly.

We like coming to work, not because we’re crazy for the 9 to 5, but because we know we’re good at our jobs and we like the people we work with. As a rule, we also like the outdoors, and most of the afterwork activities and hobbies around the office reflect that. Water cooler talk is usually trading tips for our favourite camping spots, and if you have any fishing tales, tall or otherwise, we want to hear them.

We have a few other benefits as well. In lieu of paid vacation, we pay out an extra 12% on every paycheque, which if you do take a holiday or two, works out to about 6 weeks of paid time off. If you’d prefer not to take time off, you just get extra money. It’s a pretty great deal.

Education is important and so is staying on top of new developments in the industry. The ICBA and Construction Association are always holding courses, and we’re happy to pay for you to attend them or any other training opportunities that will benefit your work with us.

Who We Hire

Everyone has to hire temporary employees sometimes, but we do our best not to. This is mostly because we invest heavily in our employees, and when you work for us, we want you to stick around. But also, because we don’t usually need to. Even our Januarys stay busy, so we have very low turnover, especially for a construction company.

In fact, most of our employees stick around for 20 years or more. Remember when we said we like to invest in our employees? It’s with good reason because we also like to promote from within. Almost all of our site supervisors started as labourers or carpenters.

Staff Events

We’ve already said we like to have a good time when we’re off the clock, and that includes work-sponsored fun.

We have regular potlucks and staff parties, summertime BBQs, and of course the annual Christmas party. Have you ever curled for a turkey?

Apprenticeships

Without apprenticeships, the construction industry falls apart, and we’re happy to do our part. We have a robust apprenticeship program, and we take on plenty of apprentices, usually carpenters, every year.

As part of our program, we’ll even reimburse you for your trades schooling upon successful completion of your coursework every semester.
